Been a *very* hectic week, but tomorrow I should actually have some free time, and I'll be spending it making a comic. So, sorry about the lateness, but I'll be putting up the next comic tomorrow evening.

Cut/paste MADNESS!!!1! Believe it or not this one took longer to draw than most do, if only because I couldn't get the *one drawing* to look right. Did it like four times. I need practice with drawing rooms and inanimate objects. *sigh* Anyway, better late than never, eh?

Bah! Late, late, late. But in other news, I can haz wakom tablett! So coloring should improve again. :) Taking some time this week to get the comic back on schedule. My goal is to get to the point where I can produce three comics a week. Cross your fingers!

Budgeting for the tablet looks doable, so only a couple more strips with the crappy coloring... On the other hand, doing all the inking by hand has improved my speed, and it doesn't look bad, either!

Tablet is still dead. *sigh* However, I got a shipment of pens from Jetpens (which is now my absolute favorite pen store)! That shipment included a Pentel Tradio, which means I can do variable-width inking again without it looking like total crap, so today's strip doesn't look quite as bad as the last one... ;)

So you may be wondering at this point why the comic looks like crap. The sad answer is that my tablet, which has been going downhill for a little while, has finally given up the ghost. What this means for the comic is that until I can replace it, you may be seeing pencil-only or simply-inked comics without color (since I use the tablet rather extensively for coloring the comic)... Not my favorite method of presentation, but you do what you can. I'll keep you updated on the state of the tablet. ;)

See, I'm actually going somewhere with all this... Today's strip is hand-inked, in the hope that I might reduce the time involved in preparing a comic that way. The jury's still out on how much time I'm getting back and how much quality I gain/lose. More practice may give me a better idea how well it works...

For once, the comic seemed to just leap from the pen! It's nice to have a strip just *work* without tons of effort. :)
